Overview

The movie, Bobby Jones – Stroke of Genius, celebrated the legendary golfer Bobby Jones and the challenges of a life struggling between his love for golf, love for family and his failing health. Wiersma spearheaded the organization of a 89-day project to orchestrate 71 events including four worldwide premieres in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and St. Andrews, Scotland. The project included:

  • 170,000 invitations; customized to 71 events with four Premieres
  • 30,000 VIP kits
  • 30, 000 four color Programs
  • 150,000 VIP Credentials with lanyards
  • 150,00 Customized DVD with movie trailers and message from star Jim Caviezel
  • 400 signed charity auction items
  • 1500 Ambassador pins
  • 9854 Bobby Jones – Stroke of Genius, the Movie and the Man coffee table books used as VIP gifts
  • 100 custom giclee prints of Bobby Jones – Stroke of Genius artwork by renown golf artist Jim Fitzpatrick
  • 500 lithograph posters of the art prints
  • 30 page web site www.jonesfilmfoundation.org including a “Store” of party and event support items
  • Thousands of imprinted napkins, glasses and the collector's Movie Mugs; hundred of caps and t-shirts

Results:
Events raised nearly $1 million for local charities and created a buzz and positive media coverage around the film.
