For 10 years, Wiersma produced the largest 3-on-3 charity
basketball tournament outside of The home state of Michigan. The
Gus Macker annually
drew over 1000 teams of three as hoopsters ages 10 – 70
enjoyed three wild days in the sun.
Thousands raised for local charities and a super annual event
for Indianapolis tourism.
Hoosier park in Anderson, IN partnered with Wiersma to create an annual
event to educate the community about horse racing and draw the top
leadership to their Park. Wiersma worked with the local charity The
Wellness Community
to plan this annual event that had local CEO “riders” and
an auction with a fundraising dinner.
For 10 years the Doo Da Derby raised funds and friends for The
Wellness Community and met the outreach goals of Hoosier Park.
Indianapolis Mayor Steve Goldsmith wanted to get his staff
out of the festival production business and turned to Wiersma to “privatize” the
annual downtown festival. Wiersma ran the event for five years,
increasing local sponsorships 700% and adding a full daytime of
family focused
activities.
Sponsor Kroger received amazing opportunity for
community outreach and a chance to involve their employees as volunteers.
